چکیده
Abstract The recent observation of high-lying Rydberg states excitons in semiconductors with relatively high binding energy motivates exploring their applications quantum nonlinear optics and information processing. Here, we study excitation dynamics a mesoscopic array to demonstrate its application simulation many-body dynamics. We show that the Z 2 -ordered phase can be reached using physical parameters available for cuprous oxide (Cu 2 O) by optimizing driving laser such as duration, intensity, frequency. In an example, our proposed system solving maximum independent set problem based on blockade effect.

Quantum Many-Body Simulation using Cavity Coupled Monolayer Excitons
We propose an architecture for quantum simulation of strongly interacting bosons using monolayer excitons in MoS2 quantum dots. The strongly coupled monolayer exciton and cavity photon form polaritons between which the interaction reaches 1 ∼ 10 meV—more than one order of magnitude higher than the state-of-art value. We discuss Mott transition in a chain of coupled cavities driven by photon blo...
متن کاملDirect observation of ultrafast many-body electron dynamics in an ultracold Rydberg gas
Many-body correlations govern a variety of important quantum phenomena such as the emergence of superconductivity and magnetism. Understanding quantum many-body systems is thus one of the central goals of modern sciences. Here we demonstrate an experimental approach towards this goal by utilizing an ultracold Rydberg gas generated with a broadband picosecond laser pulse. We follow the ultrafast...
متن کاملMany-body theory of excitation dynamics in an ultracold Rydberg gas
We develop a theoretical approach for the dynamics of Rydberg excitations in ultracold gases, with a realistically large number of atoms. We rely on the reduction of the single-atom Bloch equations to rate equations, which is possible under various experimentally relevant conditions. Here, we explicitly refer to a two-step excitation scheme. We discuss the conditions under which our approach is ...

We develop a theoretical framework for the dissipative propagation of quantized light under conditions of electromagnetically induced transparency in atomic media involving strongly interacting Rydberg states. The theory allows us to determine the peculiar spatiotemporal structure of the output of the recently demonstrated single-photon filter and the recently proposed single-photon subtractor,...
متن کاملMany-body ionization in a frozen Rydberg gas.
In a dense gas of 300 microK 85Rb atoms of n approximately 50 ionization occurs on a 100 ns time scale, far too fast to be explained by the motion of the atoms or photoionization by 300 K blackbody radiation. Rapid ionization is accompanied by spectral broadening, with the spectrum becoming continuous at n=88 at a density of 5x10(10)cm(-3). The atomic transitions broaden both smoothly and by th...
